Throw the 3000-mile myth in the garbage
We at Blake Fulenwider Clyde want you to know that while you may have heard that you should be changing your oil every three thousand miles, this ideology is simply a myth. There are no facts to support that newer vehicles need to have their oil changed that frequently. On the contrary, many of the newer vehicles that are on the road today should wait a while longer before they have their oil changed.
If you are in doubt, simply look in your owner’s manual and see what the factory says about it. You don’t have to worry about voiding your warranty by ignoring the myth if your manual states that you can go many more miles before an oil change. Don’t give in to the buzz that you should get an oil change every 3000 miles. It really isn’t worth it and you are essentially throwing away your money while gaining no benefits.
